Got a new Apple iMac delivered on Friday.
*sigh*
Apple’s are a terrible extravagance, especially for those of us not gainfully employed and as a former IT professional, it shouldn’t make a lot of difference to me either way, but they are so pretty and I’m pretty used to the small differences in interface and keyboard shortcuts now since having the Apple laptop for a few years.
We splashed out and got the 24”, although whilst in the Apple store I saw a 30” monitor… figured I’d get eye strain sitting so close to such a large screen - at least, that’s what I tell myself.
I also appreciate that I have spent zero hours on virus control or rebuilding since converting to Mac. Also like the fact that migrating meant just doing a hard-disk dump of all my files from the Powerbook onto a external drive and copying them over onto the desktop; 90% of the applications didn’t need ‘reinstalling’ - bliss!
